Despite the millions of people who speak the Guanzhong dialect of Mandarin in the Guanzhong region of Shaanxi, including the city of Xi'an, we lack complete documentation of the variety. This project seeks to address gaps in our knowledge of the dialect while simultaneously working toward speech technologies that better support the process of language documentation. If you are a native speaker of this dialect please consider joining us. Even small contributions of time will help. All of the data collected will be shared for purposes of research and education.
