Regional dialects are much less represented than standard Japanese ​​in Japanese society. Standard Japanese is taught in schools and used in television and official communication, despite the fact that many different dialects are spoken in Japan. Examples of these regional dialects include the Kanto dialect, the Kansai dialect, and the Hokkaido dialect, but there are many more than those listed here. The goal of this project is to create linguistic resources that represent the different regional dialects of Japan.
